Doganbey (Doganbey Koyu) – a unique eco-village, which appreciate clean air and quiet. In this village on the houses can be found the inscription “Please, respect our silence”.
Village Doganbey located on the territory of Dilek Peninsula National Park from the delta of the river Büyük Menderes River. Until 1923 year Doganbey Koyu was a Greek settlement, and the whole architecture is now talking about it – stone houses, roads, fences. Now – this is protected zone, and all the old Greek houses are under state protection – reconstruction and allowed only in compliance with the original form. This place has not become a ghost, as Kaya Koy, it kept herself.
Doganbey – is an amazing place, resting place, silence and peace of relaxation. Local people often ask guides to convey information about the features of the village to the tourists and various photographers, so that they respect their private property rights and the possibility to keep quiet, on some houses hanging signs asking them not to photograph them.
On the territory Doganbey Koyu there is a museum and a small cafe. If after a walk in Doganbey wants full meal, we recommend the excellent seafood restaurant Karina on the sea shore - 3 km from the village.
Note: in these places dwells 60% the entire population of curly pelicans (Dalmatian Pelican) of Turkey.
