It is worth to come to Side in winter as there are no international tourists and you have a great opportunity to walk around the city and fully enjoy its antique atmosphere.
It is easy to park your car in the harbor during a low season and start your trip to Side from this point. At first you will see the tall columns which are the remnants of the Apollo temple which is situated directly on the beach close to the Athena temple.
The esplanade in Side has many shops, restaurants and cafes, the ruins of the city walls of the antique city. There are many tourists in summer here and the main interesting objects stay behind this scene. For example, there is a port hammam situated near the harbor among modern buildings. And there is a city hammam found on the way from the temples to the antique library. Besides, there is a path to the sand beach made in one of the fragments of the city wall which is perfect for walks. You can reach the antique library agora coming through the well preserved city walls.
The entrance to all the antique building except the amphitheatre and museum is free in Side.
